St. Joseph’s Parish Nyamirama is found in Kabale Diocese, Kanungu district in the South Western part of Uganda. The Parish was established in 2011. It was initially an outstation of Kambuga Parish. It comprises of 13 out stations (hiikas) namely; Nyamirama, Kaniabizo, Rwengabi, Mashaku, Mucoogo, Kigarama, Mpangango, Buyundo, Kiruruma, Kyantuhe, Rushaka, Samaria and Bushoje. The Parish has seven primary schools, one secondary school and one dispensary.
The Pioneer priests are Rev. Fr. Aloysius Ndema, CSSp. who worked as the Parish Priest and Superior of the community and Fr. Tamale Ssentongo Aloysius, CSSp who was the Curate and Chaplain of the Catholic schools. From April 2016 to December 2016 a diocesan Deacon Aurelius Maguru was sent to the Parish for his diaconate pastoral experience.
The lay leaders are working in collaboration with the Priests for the development of the Parish in all pastoral spheres. Nyamirama Parish is a community of communities where Christians are distributed into smaller communities, mainly Church movements and devotional groups. They are all bound together and strengthened by the celebration of sacraments.
Currently, Fr. Tamale Ssentongo Aloysius, CSSp is working as the Parish Priest and Fr. Stephen Abwire, CSSp. as the curate.
